Obligatory Mascot Character Time

Image
So, I guess it’s finally that time. It’s completely unnecessary to do, but whatever. I might as well have a mascot character. This is Vertica. Say ‘hi’, Vertica. Alright, Vertica, calm down. Nobody likes a kiss ass. Now quiet down and let me finish this post. People are gonna get bored and click away if it's just you yammering about nothing. So anyway, I’m not sure why I made a mascot character. I guess I was tired of the old, generic background and figured the blog needed some more personality. Not really thrilled with her design, but it’s just kind of what I came up with. I tried to add some flair where I could, but overall she’s kind of… plain looking I think. Which is weird because she’s pretty much exactly how I pictured her, but… eh. Whatever.  Also, she’s not that cute. No you can't, you can read the words I'm writing. So you can SEE me, smart one. Now shut up, flatty. Yeah, and a good mascot character would pull it off. You have the chest of a middle school girl a...

Single Image Story: Risk Taking

Image
So here's a weird one. There's literally no text. It's odd. Like, I was getting ready to add in some dialogue - just the stuff you'd expect, with the shota being all nervous and the nurse teasing him a little - but I felt like it would just look... cheesy.  Like, I feel like you GET exactly what's going on in the image without any words needing to be said. If you don't: the shota is going to give Valentine's Day chocolates to the school nurse, who he has a huge crush on despite her constantly messing with him. She KNOWS he's got chocolates and is going to - essentially - confess to her and is hiding her excitement and anticipation behind the usual, smug confidence.  So yeah. Just an... image. It feels weird, but hey. What can you do? Sometimes things just turn out better than expected, I guess.

First Crash Heartbreak

You know, I feel like the first time a new game or software crashes is the most heartbreaking. Up until then you just don't really worry about it, because you always assume (or at least, I know I do) that the game will be fine. You have this blind confidence in it and don't really worry about what 'might' happen. Then it crashes. Out of nowhere, it just stops working. And all that confidence vanishes. From then on, whenever you play the game you just think to yourself 'ok, shit, hopefully this doesn't cause it to crash' and you end up feeling like you're walking on egg shells while playing/using it. Suddenly it's a lot harder to get immersed because you don't have that same faith as before.  It happened to me with Bannerlord, most recently. It suddenly became 'a game that crashes sometimes' instead of just 'a game'. It's sad, really. ... Anyway, newer, shinier HS2 installed and working fine (for now).  TIME T'GET BACK T...

Nothing's Ever Easy

No images, no updates, just pain. I needed to complain a bit. For some reason the studio is starting to crash whenever I take a screenshot and I swear it's happening more and more each day. I was midway through the Tomo scene when - for no reason - the studio just decided it couldn't take screenshots anymore. Checking other scenes it crashes when just the map is loaded, sometimes when the characters are loaded and sometimes I swear it crashes when the freaking CAMERA ANGLE changes.  So what to do? I've cleared up a bunch of space on my PC and am now downloading a newer, shinier version of Honey Select. It's really the only thing I can think of; the classic 'uninstall-reinstall'. It's definitely not ideal since these file sizes are GIRTHY, man, but it's all I can think to do. There's seemingly no rhyme or reason to these crashes and no help can be found online. A deer's gotta do what a deer's gotta do. One day I'll just be able to chill,...
