  Well, here's something for you. Sort of. I mean, it's not really anything, actually, but it's something. Sort of. Anyway... Work on VerticalQuest has slowed a little bit. I'm obviously still working on it, but I'm shifting a bit to a NEW Visual Novel that I'm hoping I can get out much sooner. I spent all day plugging away at it and... it's coming along. It's a lot more simple, with basically - like - three endings or so. Basically designed to be played through in its entirety each time, instead of played in installments. It's a story that definitely COULD have been a comic, but I felt was a little too complicated and had a few too many options and possible outcomes. I think Kanako (the female lead, pictured above) might be the prettiest girl I've designed, honestly. And I'm speaking objectively, of course. Half of it's talking, which isn't great, but what can you do? I realize it's weird to have a story based on a Chikan event where there's no actual Chikan, but... I dunno. Ogawa's somehow both cute and hot, which I think really works in this case. I also liked her boss. I think he's a good foil, being a creep who kind of worships Ogawa while also wanting to do terrible things to her.  Again, this is just before I figured out lighting and screen effects so it all looks kind of harsh, but I don't think it detracts too much from the story. Oh well.  So this was my first comic, and it was really fucking basic. Stagnant lighting, basic ass colors, stiff poses, etc., etc.. That being said, I still think there's something sort of 'pure' about it in a weird way. Probably just because it embodies all the shit I'm into in the most basic way.  I will undoubtedly do a remaster of this in the future and get better lighting/color, more pages and better choreography overall.
